October 27-28, 2008
Running High Ranch, Bowie, Texas
Contact: Jeanie Dreinhofer (325) 348-3014
This class will address designing infrastructure to support the activities you have planned for your land. To keep animals moving continually requires new thinking about how fencing, water points, roads and handling facilities are laid out. A holistic land plan represents the marriage of a holisticgoal and step-by-step practice--one step making the next step possible as the land plan is gradually implemented over time. Space is limited to the first 30 people to register.

Mob Grazing Workshop
October 29, 2008
Deactur Civic Center, Texas
Contact: Jeanie Dreinhofer (325) 348-3014
Mob Grazing is the curret hot topic among progressive grass farmers looking for the path to profitable ranching operations. The cry to "increase annual forage production by up to 400%" reminds us of the early eighties when "double your stocking rate" drew forward thinking graziers to Allan Savory's talks on Holistic Resource Management. Now, many of those still on the leading edge realize they are farming grass as much as livestock, and that those higher stock densities are evolving to ultra high stock density as graziers discover the benefits of up to 500,000 pounds of cattle per acre!
Ian Mitchell-Innes, a Holistic Management Certified Educator from South Africa, will serve as instructor of this 1-day workshop. He is no stranger to drought, ranching in drought-stricken South Africa, where in a good year rainfall is less than 20 inches.
