Patsy joined HMI after spending 10 years as a Business Support Analyst in the high-voltage transmission industry, where she honed her skills in project management and strategic support. Her transition to HMI was driven by an endless thirst for knowledge of the industry, and a desire to connect with and support fellow farmers, ranchers, and outdoor enthusiasts.
Growing up in Dodge City, Kansas, Patsy was surrounded by the commercial cattle industry, but it was her time spent in the sandhills with her father that truly shaped her curiosity of nature. During those days, observing the land and wildlife, she learned that nature’s standards often differ from conventional ideals. What might be considered a perfect specimen in the eyes of a hunter or livestock breeder isn't always what nature deems most fit for survival and reproduction. Traits like resilience, adaptability, and functionality are what truly define success in nature, often outweighing conventional ideals of success.
Now residing in Northeast Kansas, Patsy applies this philosophy to managing her land for both livestock and wildlife. She is actively working to restore the prairie ecosystem, battling invasive species like noxious cedars, to bring back the land's natural vitality. Patsy is passionate about breeding livestock with a focus on real-world functionality and adaptability. She believes in developing animals that are not just profitable but also resilient and well-suited to their environment. She enjoys the challenge of striking a balance between meeting market needs and nature's demands.
