HMI 2016 Gathering a Success

Paicines-with-border

On October 14-16, 2016, HMI held our biennial Holistic Management Gathering in Paicines, California at the beautiful Paicines Ranch. Over 200 participants came from around the globe to participate in "Cultivating Community: Land. Food. Health." A recent article about the event written by Julie Morris was featured in the Benito Link. Sallie Calhoun, co-owner of the Paicines Ranch, was quoted from her presentation at the Open Gate day on October 14th as saying: “The idea of holistic management is what inspired me to get into ranching," Calhoun said. "I was trained by HMI, and this has had a profound influence on my work and thinking. I can't imagine managing land without using the principles of Holistic Management.  This community has also been my support and inspiration throughout the last 15 years." There were many other speakers including Dr. Thomas Cowan at the event. HMI live-streamed a number of these sessions. To see Dr. Cowan, click here.
