ed to announce that Holistic Management practitioners Donnie and Trisha Feiring of Beach, North Dakota, have won the 2016 Environmental Stewardship Award, which is presented by The North Dakota Stockmen's Association (NDSA). Sponsored in part by the North Dakota Game and Fish Department, the award was presented to the Feiring family during the NDSA's 87th Annual Convention & Trade Show. The show, titled "Rooted in Tradition, Growing for the Future," was held in Minot, N.D., on Sept. 24.
Donnie and Trisha, along with daughters Harley and Taylor operate Feiring Cattle Company; a 1,985-acre purebred Angus operation in western North Dakota. They use Holistic Management practices such as planting trees, using cover crops and utilizing an intensive grazing plan on their ranch.
As the North Dakota state winner, the Feirings will go on to compete against other winners from South Dakota, Nebraska and Kansas for a regional award.
