Honoring Tim McGaffic

It is with great sadness that HMI learned of the passing of HMI Certified Educator Tim McGaffic. Tim not only had a great passion for Holistic Management, but also stockmanship, horses and stock dogs.
Tim’s experience with Holistic Management began in the areas of public lands grazing and the associated ranches that were attached to those permitted lands in the late ‘80s. He also had a lot experience in commodity-based businesses creating long term plans with markets in mind, including being the project manager for a sandalwood harvesting and reforestation project in Hawaii.
Tim's consulting business was Remount Enterprises and his stockmanship/horsemanship website focusing on behavioral science was The Nature of Natural. Tim was also known for his innovative work with wild mustangs most notably the Mesa Verde gather and horsemanship clinics. He has conducted horse clinics and taught low stress stockmanship around the country, predominantly in California, Colorado, New Mexico, Hawaii, North and South Carolina, Florida and Virginia.
