"The low-stress livestock handling workshop was amazing. It answered a lot of questions as to why things were or were not working and gave me a lot of things I could use as soon as I got back to the ranch. What I learned at the workshop has made a positive improvement to my bottom line." --Matt Stone, Stone's Throw Acres
"When I look back and think about the people I met, the relationships I deepened, and the experiences I learned from, I am inspired. Passionate professionals from different disciplines — range managers, small producers, researchers, and probably the most experienced stock-woman on the continent — all shared their skills and experiences.
We deepened our understanding of communicating intentions with herd animals and saw what low-stress stockmanship looks like with young cattle that have had little groundwork. We discussed seasonal forage production and inventory. And discussed different rotation grazing intervals, and how plant communities respond to management practices at different times of year.
So many of us care deeply about healthy ranges and habitats, and it was meaningful to come together to share the tools, knowledge, and record-keeping practices it takes to achieve that goal." -- Justin Rattan
